Name, email, phone and what you are packing and how it ships. Attach artwork if you have it. We reply with a specification and a written price, usually within one business day.
The buds work free of the insert in transit and arrive rattling loose, which reads as a defective product before the customer has even switched them on.
A board or thermoformed insert with a seat for the case and a separate recess for the buds. It is the insert, not the carton, that makes this format feel like the price.
Earbud Boxes hold a charging case and a pair of buds small enough to be lost inside the carton if nothing holds them. That is the starting point for the specification, because a board or thermoformed insert with a seat for the case and a separate recess for the buds. It is the insert, not the carton, that makes this format feel like the price.
In service they are used for premium accessory retail and direct-to-consumer launches, where the pack is photographed and reviewed as much as the product.

Device packaging is an insert problem before it is a box problem. The cavity is cut to the geometry of the item, and once the contents cannot move, the outer rarely needs to be heavier than a standard grade.
Rigid board wrapped in a printed litho sheet, or 18pt SBS with a fitted insert where the budget will not carry rigid.
The options we would consider for this format are below; a board or thermoformed insert with a seat for the case and a separate recess for the buds. It is the insert, not the carton, that makes this format feel like the price.
Compact, around 3.5 × 3 × 1.75 in, sized to the closed charging case with the lid shut.
Send the contents rather than a box size. A plain carton is specified for a product whose unboxing is a genuine part of what the customer paid for at this price point.
Cartons ship flat in bulk cases, which keeps freight cost low even on large runs.
Delivery windows are confirmed in writing when your order moves into production, and we flag any risk to the date before you approve rather than after.
Four things drive a quote more than anything else: the quantity, the print route, the board grade and the number of finishing passes. Dimensions matter too, but usually through how efficiently the shape nests on the press sheet.
Prices start from $0.30 per piece for large-volume orders. If a cheaper route exists we say so at quoting rather than after the invoice.
Tell us what goes inside, how many you need and when. Those three answers are enough for us to specify and price the job properly.
You approve the quote, we send the dieline, prepress proofs it, and production follows. The proof stage is where changes are still free.
Ask for an unprinted sample if the question is fit, or a printed prototype if the question is colour. They answer different things.
Sample costs are normally credited against the production order.

Specification, minimums and lead times for earbud boxes.
A folding carton with a well-made insert covers most of it. Rigid earns its cost when the pack is part of the review — unboxing videos, gifting, above roughly the $150 price point. We will quote both so the difference is visible against your margin.
We can specify boards and liners appropriate for electronics handling and cut inserts to component geometry. Tell us the exact requirement your process operates under, since it varies considerably between component types.
Only if boxes are arriving crushed. If they arrive intact with damaged contents, the product is moving inside and a heavier outer changes nothing. A fitted insert solves that case, usually at lower cost.
Yes, and for earbud boxes we prefer to specify both together. A cavity that holds the contents still often lets us drop a grade on the outer, so the pair can cost less than an over-specified box alone.
Flat and glued along one seam, so they pop open on your packing line. That keeps freight cost down considerably compared with a pre-assembled structure.
We issue a dieline template sized to your product, prepress checks your artwork against it, and a proof comes back for sign-off. Nothing runs until you approve that proof, and folding cartons then take 3 to 5 business days.
Yes. Once a first run is approved we hold the board, structure, dimensions, print method and finishes against your account, so a reorder references the same specification exactly rather than being re-derived. It also means a reorder can be priced against a larger quantity without re-opening the specification.
Recycled grades are available across most of the substrates we run for folding cartons. Recycled content, kerbside recyclability and certified compostability are three different claims though, so tell us which one you intend to print.
A print-ready PDF or a vector file, with fonts outlined and any raster images at 300 dpi at final size. We supply the dieline to design onto, and prepress checks bleed, safe area and crease clearance before issuing a proof. The dieline we supply carries the crease positions, so keeping type clear of a crease is easier to solve at layout than at proof.
A flat 100 units on any format. Most folding cartons in this range are quoted from 100 units upward because unit cost falls sharply above that, but the minimum exists so you can validate a structure first.
3 to 5 business days after artwork approval, plus freight. Folding carton runs with applied finishes can take longer because each finish is a separate pass, and we confirm a firm date in writing with the quote.
Prices start from $0.30 per piece for large-volume orders. For this format the biggest levers are quantity, print route, board grade and how many finishing passes are involved. We quote each element separately so you can see where the money is going. An insert often lowers the total rather than raising it, because holding the contents still lets us drop a grade on the outer.
