Stickers specified for where they will actually live

The difference between a sticker that lasts three weeks and one that lasts three years is entirely in the face stock and the laminate, not in the printing.

Paper or vinyl decides everything else

Paper stickers are cheaper, print beautifully and fail quickly outdoors — they fade in weeks and lift at the edges as soon as they get damp. Vinyl costs more, survives weather and handling, and takes a UV laminate that extends it further.

Almost every disappointing sticker order we are asked about is a paper stock used where a vinyl one belonged. The printing was fine; the material was wrong for the environment.

Tell us the surface, not just the size

Adhesive keys differently to glass, coated card, matte plastic, powder-coated metal and anything cold or damp. A general-purpose adhesive on a low-energy plastic will lift at the edges within days.

Application temperature matters too. Adhesive applied below room temperature never keys properly, and it is one of the few sticker faults that cannot be corrected afterwards.

Choosing a Stickers Specification

Materials

  • White vinyl
  • Clear vinyl
  • Holographic vinyl
  • Matte paper
  • Glitter vinyl

Where the sticker lives. Anything outdoors or in a dishwasher needs UV-resistant vinyl with a laminate. Our guide to packaging board and film grades compares them on strength, print quality and cost.

Printing

  • Digital eco-solvent printing
  • UV inkjet
  • Screen printing

Run length usually decides this. Digital wins on shorter quantities because there is no plate cost; beyond that, offset and flexo overtake it on price per unit.

Finishes

  • Gloss laminate
  • Matte laminate
  • UV-resistant laminate
  • Holographic overlay

Finishes are applied in the same production run. Each one adds a step, so we price them individually rather than bundling them into the base rate.

Applications

  • Packaging seals and closures
  • Brand merchandise
  • Laptop and bottle decoration
  • Promotional inserts

Most orders here come from retail and grocery, e-commerce and dtc, gifting and events brands.

      Custom Stickers Questions

      Will paper stickers survive outdoors?

No. They fade within weeks and lift at the edges as soon as they get damp. Outdoor use needs vinyl with a UV laminate, which lasts considerably longer.

What surface will the stickers go on?

It matters more than most buyers expect. Adhesive keys differently to glass, coated card, matte plastic and powder-coated metal. Tell us the surface and the application temperature and we will match the adhesive.

      Can you cut any shape?

Yes, within reason — very fine points and narrow necks tear during weeding and application. We will flag it if a shape is going to be fragile before we cut the die.

What is the difference between die-cut and kiss-cut?

Die-cut goes through the backing so each sticker is separate. Kiss-cut cuts only the face material, leaving stickers on a backing sheet — better for sheets, sets and anything applied in sequence.

Do you supply stickers on rolls?

Yes, and for anything applied by machine or in volume at a bench, rolls are considerably faster to work with than sheets. Tell us the application method and we will supply accordingly.

Can stickers be applied to cold surfaces?

Only with the right adhesive. General-purpose adhesive does not key below room temperature and will lift. If application happens cold, say so and we will specify a cold-apply adhesive.

      Are your stickers recyclable?

Paper face stocks generally are; vinyl is not. If recyclability matters more than durability, a paper stock with a light varnish is the honest choice — but it will not last outdoors.

What is the minimum order for stickers?

A flat 100 units on any format. Digital printing means short runs carry no plate cost, so small quantities are genuinely economical here.

Can I have several designs in one order?

Yes. On digital there is no plate cost per design, so a mixed run of several artworks is usually barely more expensive than one design at the same total quantity.

How much do custom stickers cost?

From $0.30 per piece at large volumes. Vinyl and laminate both add cost over paper, and the size and shape complexity affect how efficiently the sheet is used.
