Mini Gift Bags hold a very small item — a ring, an earring pair, a favour — where the bag is almost jewellery-scale. That is the starting point for the specification, because at this size a ribbon closure often reads better than a handle, because a scaled-down handle rarely looks right.
In service they are used for wedding favours, event giveaways and small jewellery purchases.
Shelf presence is decided at arm's length, not close up. Contrast, the front panel hierarchy and how the pack sits next to competitors matter more than a finish that only reads in the hand.
If mini gift bags will be faced on a shelf, tell us the facing orientation so the strongest panel is the one the customer sees.

170gsm board with ribbon rather than rope, which scales down more gracefully.
The options we would consider for this format are below; at this size a ribbon closure often reads better than a handle, because a scaled-down handle rarely looks right.
There is very little panel. A single mark or a monogram works; a full design does not fit legibly.
Flexography, Offset lithography, Digital press are all available for this format. Run length usually decides which is cheapest: digital removes the plate cost on short quantities, offset and flexo overtake it at volume.

Each finish below is a separate pass on the press or the finishing line, which is why they are quoted individually rather than bundled.
Smaller again, around 3 × 2 × 4 in, where handle and gusset construction get genuinely fiddly.
Send the contents rather than a box size. A standard handle is applied to a miniature bag, and the proportion looks wrong even when the bag is well made.
Allow for the bottom fold and side gussets on the dieline, and keep logos clear of the crease lines so they read cleanly when the bag is open.
Supply a print-ready PDF or vector file with fonts outlined and images at 300 dpi. Our prepress team checks every file before a proof is issued. The check that catches most files is type sitting too close to a crease, which is easier to move at layout than at proof.
Send the product dimensions, the quantity and your deadline. What comes back is a board grade, a structure, a print method, a lead time and a written price — not a number on its own.
A dieline template follows, then a proof. For finish-led work we usually recommend a physical prototype at this point, because foil and soft-touch do not read accurately on screen.
We can produce a plain unprinted sample so you can check the fit and structure of mini gift bags before committing.
Sample costs are normally credited against the production order.

In practice

Handles are out of proportion at this scale, either too thick to look right or too thin to hold.

Specification, minimums and lead times for mini gift bags.
Rarely without compromise. A box built to present is not built to survive a carrier network alone. A presentation box inside a plain protective outer usually costs less overall than one box trying to do both.
Small formats are limited by what the die and the gluing line can hold rather than by any policy. Mini Gift Bags sit comfortably within that, but tolerances tighten as size drops, so we recommend a structural sample before print.
It depends on the load, not the look. Twisted paper handles suit light contents; flat paper is stronger for the same cost; cotton rope carries the most and reads as the most premium. Above a few kilos the failure point is usually the bag tearing at the handle, so a reinforced top edge matters as much as the handle itself.
That is set by the paper weight and the top-edge reinforcement together rather than by the handle alone. Tell us the heaviest thing you will put in mini gift bags and we will specify to it rather than to an average.
3 to 5 business days after artwork approval, plus freight. Paper bag runs with applied finishes can take longer because each finish is a separate pass, and we confirm a firm date in writing with the quote.
Prices start from $0.30 per piece for large-volume orders. For this format the biggest levers are quantity, print route, board grade and how many finishing passes are involved. We quote each element separately so you can see where the money is going. Rigid construction is hand-assembled, so labour is a larger share of the unit cost here than it is on a machine-glued carton and quantity discounts flatten out sooner.
Yes. We can send a plain unprinted sample so you can check the fit and structure, or a printed prototype for colour and finish. Sample costs are normally credited against the production order. Ask for the printed prototype rather than the plain sample if the question is finish — soft-touch, foil and deboss all read differently in the hand than on a screen.
Send the current specification or a physical sample and we will quote to match it rather than proposing an alternative you would then have to re-approve internally. Send the physical box rather than a photograph. Wrap stock, corner finish and interior lining are what make a rigid box feel the way it does, and none of them photograph.
All 50 US states, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, on the same timeline everywhere: 3 to 5 business days of production after artwork approval, then 5 to 7 business days in transit. Every run is made to order and shipped directly to your address rather than pulled from stock, so you receive current production rather than whatever has been sitting in a warehouse. Freight is costed separately by weight, volume and destination. Small formats consolidate well, so if you are ordering several at once they normally travel as a single consignment rather than being charged separately.
Every run is cut to your dimensions — there are no stock sizes here. Send the product measurements rather than a box size and we will build the paper bag around them, then send a dieline template you can design onto.
We issue a dieline template sized to your product, prepress checks your artwork against it, and a proof comes back for sign-off. Nothing runs until you approve that proof, and paper bags then take 3 to 5 business days.
Yes. Once a first run is approved we hold the board, structure, dimensions, print method and finishes against your account, so a reorder references the same specification exactly rather than being re-derived. It also means a reorder can be priced against a larger quantity without re-opening the specification.
