Design for the half-empty state. A display that only works full looks poor for most of its selling life.
Cardboard Retail Display Boxes are engineered from corrugated or paperboard with a tear-away front or open face, so the pack doubles as the shelf unit once it reaches the store.
Cardboard Retail Display Boxes hold product in a retail environment where the display has to look deliberate among competitors. That is the starting point for the specification, because design for the half-empty state. A display that only works full looks poor for most of its selling life.
In service they are used for retail floors where the unit stands for weeks and empties gradually.

Shelf presence is decided at arm's length, not close up. Contrast, the front panel hierarchy and how the pack sits next to competitors matter more than a finish that only reads in the hand.
If cardboard retail display boxes will be faced on a shelf, tell us the facing orientation so the strongest panel is the one the customer sees.
Graded for a full load with a structure that still stands and presents when partly emptied.
The options we would consider for this format are below; design for the half-empty state. A display that only works full looks poor for most of its selling life.
The display looks convincing full and shabby half-empty, which is how it spends most of its life.

Sized to a shelf or a floor position, depending on placement.
Send the contents rather than a box size. The design assumes a full facing, and nobody considers how it reads when two-thirds sold.
Rear and side panels become visible as the unit empties. Printing them is not wasted.
Each finish below is a separate pass on the press or the finishing line, which is why they are quoted individually rather than bundled.
Ask for an unprinted sample if the question is fit, or a printed prototype if the question is colour. They answer different things.
Sample costs are normally credited against the production order.
Tell us what goes inside, how many you need and when. Those three answers are enough for us to specify and price the job properly.
You approve the quote, we send the dieline, prepress proofs it, and production follows. The proof stage is where changes are still free.

Specification, minimums and lead times for cardboard retail display boxes.
Still deliberate. A unit designed only for a full facing looks shabby for most of its selling life. Printing the rear and side panels that become visible as it empties costs little and changes how it reads.
Along a designed perforation, which is the hardest part of the structure to get right. Too weak and it fails in transit; too strong and store staff tear it badly. It is decided at dieline stage, and we recommend a sample before committing.
If you are supplying a grocery chain, almost certainly. Case dimensions, pallet pattern and barcode placement are usually published and non-negotiable. Send the requirement and we will design inward from it.
That is a structural calculation rather than a hope. Send the weight of a full facing and we will grade the board and add reinforcement where the load actually sits, which is usually the base and the front lip.
A flat 100 units on any format. Most display boxes in this range are quoted from 100 units upward because unit cost falls sharply above that, but the minimum exists so you can validate a structure first.
3 to 5 business days after artwork approval, plus freight. Display box runs with applied finishes can take longer because each finish is a separate pass, and we confirm a firm date in writing with the quote.
Prices start from $0.30 per piece for large-volume orders. For this format the biggest levers are quantity, print route, board grade and how many finishing passes are involved. We quote each element separately so you can see where the money is going. Finishing passes are the lever buyers most often underestimate: each one is a separate run through the line.
Yes. We can send a plain unprinted sample so you can check the fit and structure, or a printed prototype for colour and finish. Sample costs are normally credited against the production order. Load a sample to a full facing before approving it. A display that holds its shape empty can still bow under stock.
Send the current specification or a physical sample and we will quote to match it rather than proposing an alternative you would then have to re-approve internally. A physical sample tells us more than a specification sheet — board caliper and coating are usually described loosely and measured exactly.
All 50 US states, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, on the same timeline everywhere: 3 to 5 business days of production after artwork approval, then 5 to 7 business days in transit. Every run is made to order and shipped directly to your address rather than pulled from stock, so you receive current production rather than whatever has been sitting in a warehouse. Freight is costed separately by weight, volume and destination. Tell us at quoting if the delivery point cannot take a pallet, and we will break the consignment into cartons instead.
Every run is cut to your dimensions — there are no stock sizes here. Send the product measurements rather than a box size and we will build the display box around them, then send a dieline template you can design onto.
We issue a dieline template sized to your product, prepress checks your artwork against it, and a proof comes back for sign-off. Nothing runs until you approve that proof, and display boxes then take 3 to 5 business days.
